Research subject is historical prerequisites, essence and ways of overcoming the humanitarian crisis in Crimea and Donbas, formation of the optimal humanitarian policy model in Ukraine. Key research objective is to conduct system analysis of the humanitarian aspects of military and political crisis in Crimea and Donetsk area, incited by Russia in 2014. For this purpose, the relevant sources are studied; latest achievements of humanitarian and social sciences are considered; various professional opinions regarding the sociocultural processes in the occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas are comprehended. Methods of research The study was conducted with the application of such scientific methods as the analysis of current information and source database; social stratification analysis; historical method; method of comparative analysis (synchronic and diachronic) which enabled the consideration of interpretations of the situation in Crimea and Donetsk area as well as their sociocultural dynamics; method of content analysis aimed at studying the documents with the further interpretation of their contents while studying modern realia and directions of social and political transformations in the occupied territories. Novelty The scientific novelty of the project consists in the multifaceted analysis of the Ukrainian governmental humanitarian policy in Crimea and Donetsk area; identification of the reasons for Russian media domination and educational propaganda influences; ousting of the Ukrainian educational, cultural, and media centres, which resulted in the loss of central authority in these regions. Modern retargeting of teaching humanities at local schools at the Russian context is substantiated; risks of transformational and propagandistic influence of terroristic structures on young generation is comprehended. The study analyses the complex of historical transformations, which have embraced different humanitarian spheres of Crimea and Donbas, paying special attention to the question of social, national, and religious identity of these regions. Also, it provides the research of administrative, media, as well visional and ideological mechanisms due to which the ideology of the "Russian World" has been imposed on the population of the occupied territories; the characteristics of the religious dimension of spreading Great Russian ideology in the region. From the point of view of humanitarian risks and potential threats to the national safety of Ukraine, the vast historical and visional context of ethnocultural discourses preceding the military and political crisis is observed. Degree of implementation. In 2016, the results of scientific and research work were covered in 13 publications, materials of expert discussions, as well as tested and endorsed at numerous scientific conferences and in the educational activities of the research performers. Recommendations as for the application of the results of work The results of the research have the potential for being used while developing the state strategy of humanitarian and information policy and national legislation in this field. Its consideration is to provide the efficacy of state social policy in general and in separate regions of the country. The developed material on educational processes and their consequences in the occupied territories can be used while preparing the analytical report for the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine with the purpose of forming the objective picture of the situation in the zone of Russian aggression and developing the strategy for the reintegration of the territories in social and cultural space of Ukraine. Materials and results of the research can be aimed at the development of models of political and social programmes in humanitarian sphere for local administrations and communities of the areas that stay out of the occupied zone. Concrete factual material, accumulated during the development of the project, can be used by Ukrainian and foreign media. Lecturers of higher educational establishments can benefit from researchers' scientific investigations in their teaching practices. Field of use. Education, science, culture, national security, humanitarian policy, information policy. Economic efficacy. The results obtained in the process of carrying out scientific and research work conform to the funds allocated for the implementation of the project.
