The aim of the work: creation and tuning of an extended magnetron sputtering system for coating deposition on materials and highly functional products of complex configuration with the low temperature resistance; creation and tuning the power supply for the magnetron sputtering system capable of ensuring the system working capacity for long-term processes; creation and tuning an extended ion source for the preparation of the treated surface before coating; creating tape handling system in the vacuum chamber; diagnostics of processes of hydrogen interaction with the surface of the hydrogen storage alloys based on lanthanum on the monolayer level; development and creation of the model IFE source for analytical measurements; development of an experimental sample measuring device for determining the composition of chemical elements in materials. A study of the dynamics of elementary processes of hydrogen interaction with the surface of hydrogen storage alloy LaNi5 at elevated partial pressure of hydrogen in the target cham-ber within the temperature range 300 - 1000 K under irradiation by Ar+ ion beam with energy 8 - 16 keV. Results of the study can be used to improve technologies of compression, storage and transportation of hydrogen in a chemically bound state. Achievements of authors over the past ten years in the field of physics of the interaction of charged particle beams and plasma with a solid surface permit to use the results of ion-photon emission researches to design and create the experimental sample of the device for determining the quantitative composition of the elements in solid samples at the Nano scale.
