The aim of the work is to get an idea of the current state and trends in the hydrological conditions of the archipelago region of Argentina, and a comprehensive assessment of the climatic impact on the environment of the region, to obtain experimental results for the creation of an informative database of the hydrological status of the sea. Results of the study - as a result of the analysis of the scientific hydrophysical information obtained in the expeditions of UkrSCES and the staff of the polar station "Vernadsky" in 2012-2013 in the Strait of Penol and the waters of the archipelago "Argentine Islands", an idea was given about the vertical and horizontal hydrological structure of the waters of the district. For the first time anatomy of the Antarctic was detected and the main mechanisms of its formation were determined. It is shown that the depths of the water of the Penola peninsula are of southern origin. In general, the field of geostrophic circulation of the area is given.
