Purpose of the work - the development of methods of mathematical modeling and the reduction to the level of sanitary norms of external magnetic fields of electrical transformer substations and switchgear located in a residential area. Methods - the theory of the electromagnetic field in the quasi-stationary approximation, the spatial harmonic analysis of the magnetic field; numerical modeling techniques; experimental methods for determining the parameters of the external magnetic field of certain types of electrical equipment and transformer substations (TS) in its entirety. It was determined that the magnetic field frequency of 50 Hz generated by the low-voltage TS located in residential areas, can be a danger to the public when the premises of houses are located closer than 7 meters from the TS. The scientific bases of normalization of man-made magnetic field of low-voltage transformer substation based on the methods of mutual compensation of the magnetic moments of the vector lumped elements of TS, methods of passive loop shielding and methods of active shielding external magnetic field of TS were created. Proposed recommendations for design of magnetically clear TS and switchgear located in residential areas or built in homes to limit the magnetic field frequency of 50 Hz to a safe level, and improve the standard of living of the population.
