The aim is to study the formation of singular optical fields with controlled polarization structure and to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, the study of the properties and characteristics of new light-induced structures in photorefractive, liquid crystal, nanocomposite and bio-organic media. We used the following methods: light interference, Stokes-polarimetry, dynamic holography, laser, polarization and absorption spectroscopy. Two-beam interference has been demonstrated for a hybrid cell with nematic liquid crystal (LC) which is located between two windows of CdTe. For the first time a photorefractive crystal SPS was successfully synthesized by the method of Bridgeman. It is also the first to demonstrate experimentally that C-points do have a three-level set of characteristics for the polarization structure. A significant increase in molecular chirality of photosensitive impurity and the effectiveness of its phototransformations was found in the study of the emergence and spread of the cholesteric phase in nematic liquid crystal. In the study of properties of a topological defect - disclination line, which occurs in the theta-cell filled with doped nematic LC provitamin D, revealed that the process of disclination line angular deviation depending on the ultraviolet irradiation time is correlated with the formation of previtamin D, which is the immediate precursor of vitamin D. The results of this work were first used in the joint biomedical research in the Department of radiation biology, University of Oslo, Norway.
