The goal of the research is to identify the global challenges and risks that have the greatest impact on the Ukrainian economy. Based on the generalization of global challenges and risks of the global economy, it is determined which of them most influence the development of the Ukrainian economy and shows that the long-term trend of de-industrialization causes an increase in their influence. In the long term, the importance of such trends as the aging and depopulation of the population in the developed countries of the world, the enhancement of technogenic and anthropogenic impact on the natural environment and the acceleration of technological progress will remain. For Ukraine is characterized by increased influence of global challenges and risks, caused by the socio-political and economic crisis. In contrast to developed economies, one of the main risks for Ukraine is a significant lag in scientific and technological development, which makes it impossible to create an efficient economy. The process of de-industrialization in Ukraine was due to the predominantly reduction of high-tech industrial production, which led to an unbalanced structure of industry and the economy as a whole. Deindustrialization along with technological lag of production lead to vulnerability of the country's economy to external and internal negative influences and fluctuations in world markets.
