Purpose: to obtain quantitative parameters for evaluating life quality and radiation safety of the rural population and to develop structural and logical model of ecologically safe living of population in contaminated areas. Object of research: the processes of radionuclide migration in food chains, which mostly leads to public exposure. Purpose of the study: concentration of radionuclides in soils, food of plant, animal and forest origin in the areas of 2nd and 3rd zones of radioactive contamination. Based on the comprehensive monitoring of soils, products of plant, animal and forestry origin concentrations of radionuclides were evaluated, especially their migration and the ways of getting them into food rations of habitants of critical settlements, which are assigned to the 2nd and 3rd zones of radioactive contamination. It was revealed that the socio-economic living conditions of rural residents of radioactively contaminated settlements are worse comparatively to residents of conventionally clean areas. The structural and logical model of ecologically safe living of rural population in contaminated areas was proposed, based on communication development between rural communities and subjects of macro environment to study their needs, conditions of their life, design and implementation of relevant mechanisms of forming ecologically safe living conditions. Projected assumptions about development of studied object: the concentration of 137Cs in foods of plant, animal and forestry origin in the remote period after the accident results in the exposure of the population and deteriorating quality of life parameters.
