The purpose of the work: development and implementation of an experimental plant for quality control of natural gas by determining the heat of combustion of natural gas. As a result of the work, the analysis of domestic and foreign regulatory documents, patents, articles and monographs related to the solution of problems to determine the energy characteristics of natural gas was carried out. The analysis of the requirements of the Ukrainian and European normative documents for the quality of natural gas is carried out. Methods for determining the main index of the quality of natural gas - calorific value are considered. Analysis of modern methods for determining the heat of combustion of gas, their advantages and disadvantages, as well as modern world achievements in science have made it possible to draw a conclusion on the need to develop a new method for monitoring the energy characteristics of natural gas. A plant for monitoring the quality of natural gas has been developed and manufactured. Industrial approbation of the device for express control of the heat of combustion of natural gas in accordance with the developed operating manual was carried out in the conditions of PJSC Ivano-Frankovsk Gas.
