The content of the quasicrystalline phase in the coatings was about 75 wt. %. The obtained coatings had a high hardness at the level of 6.0 GPa with a porosity of 5-7%. The thermal conductivity of quasicrystalline coatings is even lower, in comparison with the thermal protective coatings Al2O3 and ZrO2-Y2O3. Based on the obtained rezults and contacts with scientists from the partner organization, the Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials, the Technical Assignment for a three-year project which will be financed by the PRC government has been agreed and signed.
