The purpose of the work is a production technology mastering of the low cement silicon carbide castable. The research methods are physical-mechanical, chemical and petrographic ones. Taking into attention the results of researches, which had been carried out (report about research works № 4.3-551-2015), in PJSC "The URIR NAMED AFTER A. S. BEREZHNOY" the production technology of the low cement silicon carbide castable grade of "NKBS" has been mastered. This castable is characterized by following physic-chemical properties: content SiC - 85 %, Al2O3 - 11.5 %, CaO - 1.35 %, grain composition - 2-0 mm, cold crushing strength of samples from castable after hardening for 7 days and drying at temperature of 110 °C (2 hours) - 35.0 N/mm2, and after thermal treatment at temperature of 1580 °C in the backing from oil coke - 121.7 N/mm2. With using of the low cement silicon carbide castable grade of "NKBS" the products - plates with size of 735х220х45 mm have been made by vibrocasting method. These products were fired at temperature of 1350 °C in the air atmosphere and intended to "LOZOVSKY BLACKSMITH'S MECHANICAL PLANT" Co Ltd. The products properties after thermal treatment at temperature of 1350 °C: content SiC - 82.4 %, Al2O3 - 11.4 %, CaO - 1.33 %, open porosity - 18.7 %, apparent density - 2.50 g/cm3, cold crushing strength - 144 N/mm2, refractoriness under loud of 0.2 N/mm2 - 1560 °С. In accordance with the existing normative documentation in PJSC "THE URIR NAMED AFTER A.S. BEREZHNOY" the pilot batches of silicon carbide refractories on alumina containing and silica nitride containing binders have been produced. The refractories are corresponded to technical documentation requirements (ТU U 23.2-00190503-380:2013). The work shall be continued in the line of production and application values expanding of the low cement silicon carbide castable grade of "NKBS", silicon carbide refractories on alumina containing and silica nitride containing binders, as well as manufacture mastering of new types products.
