Has been identified more than 200 species of aquatic invertebrates and over 210 species of microscopic algae, 30 species of fish and 62 species of higher aquatic plants; more than 140 species of vertebrates, 739 species of higher vascular plants are connected with wetland complexes; there formed 18 plant communities of range of associations. Has been described a new species for science - Gymnodinium feofanium Krachm. sp. nov., 52 new species for Ukraine (3 - dinoflagellate, 19 - ciliated worms, 27 diatoms and 3 desmids algae) are discovered. Has been described the ways of preserving biotic diversity of aquatic organisms, natural flora and vegetation in the floodplain of Dnipro River within the city of Kyiv metropolitan area; the measures to preserve the landscape and biotic diversity floodplain complexes within urban landscape are developed.
