A group of patients with type 2 diabetes mtllitus at the background of excess body weight (80 patients) was divided into three groups. Patients in all groups received baseline therapy against the background of diet modification and dosage physical activity. Patients in the first group received basic metformin therapy, patients in the second group received treatment with lyraglutide, patients in the third group received a combination of metformin and liragulytide. Has been established that combined therapy, which includes the administration of metformin and liraglutin, contributes to a more significant decrease in the level of glycosylated hemoglobin, body weight compared to metformin monotherapy and allows effective influence on the key pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes.
