Based on the study of publishedmaterials and the results of field research compiled expert lists of rare and endangered species of plants and animals on the territory of DP VLG that listed in the "Red Book of Ukraine," or have the status of a regionally rare for the territory of Ivano-Frankivsk region, as well as rare plant communities listed in the "Green Book of Ukraine." Total in DP VLG identified 42 rare species of flora, 24 - invertebrates and 146 - vertebrates to be protected in accordance with international, national and regional environmental documents, and 6 rare forest plant communities of the 25 associations.
