Kholodny Institute of Botany NASU popup.description2 For the further studies, among compounds of the acyl homoserine lactones class (АHL) that mediate plant-microbe interactions there was selected short-chain AHL N-hexanoyl-L-homoserine (HHL). Seeds of the new winter wheat genotype were rinsed with HHL solution. Field experiments were carried out on the plots of the Plant Genetic Improvement Department, Plant Physiology and Genetics Institute of the Ukraine National Academy of Sciences (Glevakha urban village, Kiev region). The chlorophyll content in leaves of studied varieties was found to increase gradually from the phase of stalk-shooting until the phase of flowering and decreased in the phase of milky-wax ripeness. The total chlorophyll content in primed varieties exceeded that of controls. In addition to the presowing priming crops were also foliarly treated during the phase of stalk-shooting. Compared to controls and the presowing priming, the chlorophyll index after the foliar treatment was significantly higher. Some improvement in the yield structure elements indices that include the productive tilling capacity and grain quantity and mass in one ear of wheat, increase in mass of 1000 grains were discovered. Following the foliar treatment, the cell wall thickness along with cuticle layer in leaf epidermal cells increased by 20%. A protective effect of the foliar HHL treatment was observed under conditions of model acid rain. Product Description popup.authors Косаківська І.В. Мошинець О.В.
