Stage2: Design and development of Ka-band receiver with high sensitivity and digital system for receiving, processing and recording of received radar data. popup.stage_title Head Vavriv Dmytro Mikhailovych, Доктор фізико-математичних наук Registration Date 25-01-2017 Organization Institute of Radio Astronomy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 As a result of this R&D work was carried out development and manufacture of Ka-band receiver with high sensitivity and digital system for receiving, processing and recording of received radar data. Three independent channels are realized in the receiver. Two of them are virtually identical and are designed to receive co- and cross-polarized signals respectively. The third channel is designed to convert the signal at a frequency generated by a magnetron for implementing coherency mode at reception, automatic frequency control circuit and generating a heterodyne receiver circuit protection control signals. The receiver is built on the superheterodyne circuit with double frequency conversion. heterodyne receiver uses the principles of digital synthesizing frequency. The first local oscillator is used the dielectric resonator oscillator and a frequency multiplier by 4 to minimize the phase noise. The second local oscillator is used fractional synthesizer to achieve a high precision matching frequencies of radiation and reception. The high stability thermostated, low noise crystal oscillator is used as a reference oscillator. The receiver includes a calibration circuit on the basis of the noise generator in the avalanche-transit diode, as well as monitoring and diagnosis circuit, allowing to estimate the performance of the receiver uniquely. Digital signal processing system consists of a "motherboard" of its own production and two FPGA micromodule TE0600-02IVF produced by Trenz Electronic. The presence of two channels allows the simultaneous processing of the received co- and cross-polarization components of the reflected signals. High bit ADC can receive and analyze the signals, which differ significantly in terms of input power, which is typical for meteorological applications. UDP IP protocol uses for data transmission. This provides a data transfer rate is not worse than 78 MByte / s, which is sufficient to transfer the users, even raw (unprocessed) data.5481 Product Description popup.authors
