On the basis of the operational reliability diagram it was shown that the developed alloy steel with a content of 0.67 Si and 0.81 Mn needs to optimize the chemical and structural-phase composition by the criterion of wear resistance. Based on the characteristics of high-temperature strength and ductility, as well as structural strength diagrams and operational reliability diagrams that determine the inclination of wheel steels to form defects like slider and gap, as well as to wear, complex steel with the following chemical composition (wt%) is recommended: 0, 55-0.60 C; 0.85-0.95 Si; 0.85-0.95 Mn; 0.12-0.15V; 0.014-0.017 N; 0.018-0.022 Al; up to 0.005 S; up to 0.010 P.
