The goal of the project is to develop fundamentally new methods for diagnostics of protozoan diseases of various species of animals with the help of using optical biosensors and to offer basic algorithms for their use. Research methods. Based on the results of the work, as well as the analysis of previous developments of domestic and foreign scientists, we have created and tested for the diagnosis of protozoan diseases, for example toxoplasmosis, fundamentally new methods: immunochemical diagnostics using an immune biosensor based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and photoluminescence using nanostructures of zinc oxide. According to the results of this study, algorithms for the implementation of these methods were developed. At the same time, an important step was to compare the effectiveness of these methods with serological (immunoassay and agglutination), as well as polymerase chain reaction. To compare the efficacy of various blood test methods of different animal species, updated selective structures on transducer surfaces were used and it was found that complexes of zinc oxide based immune biosensors have a sufficient specificity of the reaction, taking into account a significant decrease in the signal when a specific serum with a 1: 5 dilution is introduced. The decrease in the intensity of photoluminescence indicates the formation of a biocomplex on the surface of ZnO nanorods on the principle of "key-lock" and is accompanied by a modification of the structure of pre-adsorbed antibody molecules. It also shows a high speed of detection and a relatively low complexity in application. Thus, the use of these methods of diagnosis of toxoplasmosis will make it possible to reduce the cost of diagnosis of the disease and accelerate it. The scope of application is veterinary medicine.5481 Product Description popup.authors
