The purpose of this work is to determine the regularities of laser treatment effect on the structural state of surface layers of titanium and zirconium alloys; the establishment of the influence of laser treatment environment on phase composition formation. XRD (DRON-3, DRON-3M), durometric (PMT-3) and optical metallographic (MIM-8, Epiquant, Axiovert 40 MAT) methods were used during executing action. The structural-phase state of the surface layers of the industrial titanium alloy VT1-0 after laser alloying with iron, cobalt and nickel powders was studied using XRD and optical metallographic analyzes. The effect of laser treatment environment of zirconium based Zr-Nb alloy samples on its structural-phase state was studied. Obtained results can be used in development of technologies for increasing of wear resistance in parts which were made of titanium and zirconium alloys. The scope of investigations are metallurgy, aircraft production, nuclear power, engineering.
