The purpose of the work - the study of conceptual foundations, the development of methodological and practical recommendations for ensuring economic sustainability of modern enterprises in terms of their effective development. Methods of research - theoretical generalization and retrospective analysis, analysis and synthesis, abstract-logical, statistical analysis, system and comparative analysis, correlation-regression analysis, graphical, expert evaluations, ranking, economic-mathematical modeling. Theoretical-methodological and methodological provisions concerning the formation of a system for ensuring economic stability of industrial enterprises are developed. The conceptual apparatus used in the process of studying the problems of economic sustainability and sustainable development of enterprises is analyzed and developed; the system classification of factors of economic stability and sustainable development of industrial enterprises has been developed; the methodology of evaluating elements of economic stability as an integral part of the strategic goal-setting process was explored and developed; proposed approach to strategic management of sustainable development of industrial enterprises. On the basis of the research results, a system of elements of the organizational and economic mechanism for ensuring economic stability has been formed, the use of which will allow enterprises to maintain a predetermined level of competitiveness and economic stability in conditions of dynamic transformations in the external environment. Economic-mathematical models are developed that ensure achievement of the desired state of enterprises by means of estimating the components of economic stability and adopting effective strategic and tactical decisions. The algorithm of formation and the system of realization of sustainable development strategy is developed, which allows to define strategic guidelines and priority directions of strategic development of industrial enterprises.
