Under drought conditions, the photoassimilation activity of the leaves decreased significantly less and the intensity of photorespiration increased more In tolerant varieties than in the less tolerant ones. The increase in the activity of photorespiration contributed to the maintenance of electron transport through the Photosystem II and to the better preservation of the photosynthetic apparatus in resistant varieties. Variety Podolyanka was distinguished among the studied varieties by the high efficiency of water use in photosynthesis. It was established that tolerant varieties exhibit a lesser loss of basic structural proteins of chloroplasts membrane in leaves at drought, compared to sensetive ones. Simultaneously, in tolerant varieties, the content of 36 kDa protein, which is associated with the level of tolerance to water deficit, was significantly increased, as well as a high content of proteins of 20-22, 16.5, and 14 kDa was observed, the presence of which decreases the protease activity under drought. In the arid conditions of the growing season of 2017, the effect of spraying of crops with a complex of carboxylates of trace elements and urea on the characteristics of the photosynthetic apparatus, the production process and yields of winter wheat varieties with different drought resistance was studied in the field experiments. The positive effect of both treatments on the formation of the leaf area index of crops was revealed both in the more drought-resistant variety Astarta and in the less tolerant Natalka. Both preparations significantly increased the net productivity of photosynthesis during the period of grain filling and yield in the Natalka variety, while in the Astarta variety, the increases in photosynthetic productivity and yield was observed only when the plants were treated with a complex of carboxylates. It was established that addition of an adjuvant Surfer containing fatty acid esters is more effective than non-ionic adjuvant Traid 90, with active ingredient of oxyethylene under applying the new complex herbicidal preparations based on auxin-like herbicide galaxiphene-methyl and acetosyl-lactate synthase inhibitors florasulam (Quelex preparation) and pyroxulam (Tarsek preparation) in winter wheat crops.
