Object of research - processes and technologies of using biofuels, in particular biomass of vegetable origin; processes of combustion of organic raw materials; physical and chemical properties of biomass; thermodynamics, gas dynamics, heat and mass transfer in the conditions of replacing traditional sources of energy with alternative fuels. The purpose of the work is to develop scientific and scientific and technological research and technological basis for solving the multifactorial problem of substituting traditional sources of energy for alternative fuels and energy, and developing and substantiating changes in the design of equipment replacing traditional energy sources with fuels based on plant biomass. Methods of research - in the work used experimental and theoretical methods. Theoretical studies were based on the fundamental positions of thermodynamics, hydro gas dynamics, heat-mass transfer. The mathematical modeling of combustion processes of biofuels in rotary kilns was carried out by numerical solution of differential equations with uniqueness conditions corresponding to the process being investigated. Physical modeling was used to confirm the adequacy of a mathematical model and to develop technical requirements for biofuels when used in furnaces. The studies used modern devices for gas analysis, thermal imagers, devices for studying the temperature state, and performed all the measurements needed to calculate the material and thermal balance of the process. The technical and economic analysis of the proposed schemes was carried out to assess the effectiveness of the proposed technical solutions.
