The subject of the study is the theoretical and methodological basis for the training of future engineers on the basis of causal learning. The aim of the research is to develop theoretical and methodological foundations for the training of future engineers on the basis of causal learning. Research methods. Theoretical, namely, analysis, synthesis, generalization, comparison, abstraction, specification and analogy for the purpose of processing information of scientific and educational-methodical literature; structural-functional method - for the development of theoretical foundations for the training of future engineers on the basis of causal learning; methods of modeling, methods for solving professional problems - for the development of methods and models of the content of professional training of future engineers on the basis of causal learning. The scientific novelty of the research results is that for the first time, theoretically substantiated and developed: - the concept of professional training of future engineers based on causal learning, based on modeling of the real system of professional work of the engineer, aimed at solving professional problems, taking into account the understanding of the structure of causal links in the construction and functioning of technical systems; - the content of professional training of future engineers, implemented as a system of causal models of the content of the formation of professional competences on the basis of the fundamental invariant causal chain of knowledge on the solution of professional tasks in the creation and operation of technical systems, which enables students to formulate knowledge and skills in the conceptual, analytical and productive- synthetic levels of assimilation; - methods of professional training of future engineers as methods of causal formation of the system of professional competencies, which are based on the processing of fragments of the generalized causal chain of knowledge of the content of vocational training, which allows to form a system of professional competences for future specialists.
