The scientific and practical principles of technologies of substitution of natural gas by alternative fuels and concrete results of realization of corresponding projects are considered. The results of a cycle of thermodynamic investigations on the composition and enthalpy of generator gas from different types of fuel are given. It has been proved that the energy efficiency of the gas generation process with the use of secondary resources exceeds 90%. The following models show the operation of the gas generator system and the specific fuel consumption for replacing 1m3 of natural gas. The experience of using generator gas in water heating and steam boilers and heating furnaces is given. The results of research and introduction of biofuel burning process in rotary kilns are given. An example of implemented projects is given.
