The purpose of the work is to provide the branch and society with administrative data on publishing products that characterize the phenomena and processes taking place in the publishing sector, electronic reference and information resources of publishing and library business, to promote the effective use of normative documents by publishers to increase the overall level of the culture of publishing products; Research method is monitoring, systematization, analysis. Scientific results - administrative data (reports) about: issue of periodicals and continuing publications (except for newspapers) in Ukraine in 2016, issue of newspapers in Ukraine in 2016, issue of non-periodical publications in Ukraine in 2016; operational data on the issue of books and brochures up to December 2017; generalized data on the delivery of mandatory copies of Ukrainian publications for 2017 (up to December); Databases: Ukrainian and foreign mass media, covering the situation in Ukraine in 2017, printed media 2016-2017, "List of errors in the registration of outbound information in book editions," "List of errors in the registration of initial information in periodicals (except for newspapers) and their continuing publications and publications" for 2017, legislative and regulatory documents for 2017, (publishers) - ISBN and ISMN users for 2017; electronic array of the 5th amended and updated version of the methodological recommendations "Sign of the protection of copyright in publications that contain works of science, literature and art"; E-registry of false ISBN, ISMN and electronic publisher's ID registers in ISBN, ISMN for 2017; electronic information arrays: the Ukrainian edition "Universal Decimal Classification (UDC). Scientific novelty: the administrative data of publishing production by publishing companies in 2016-2017 were worked out and analyzed, the role of the mass media in forming the positive image of Ukraine in the world, the state of functioning of the systems of the OP, ISBN / ISMN, the completeness of the information content of the original information of the publications was analyzed, created new electronic reference and information resources. The results of the study are intended for use by: State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, other public authorities for defining the areas of state policy in publishing and information, publishing and librarians, media organizations, scientific and educational institutions.
