The purpose of the project is to provide scientific substantiation and development of practical basis of metallurgical factors influence on structure formation, mechanical properties and solubility of biocompatible alloy castings. Research methods: optical and electron microscopy, spectral analysis, fractographic analysis of sample fractures, microscopic analysis, mechanical properties tests. Results: It is shown that the developed chemical composition of the Mg - Zr - Nd system alloy, modified by silver, provides the necessary level of mechanical properties (equal to the properties of the cortical layer of bones) until complete consolidation of the fracture. It is experimentally established that the use of bone fracture osteosynthesis fixators from the developed magnesium alloy did not interfere with the processes of bone tissue reparative regeneration, while biocorrosion products of the modified experimental alloy, from which the implants were made, did not cause toxic effects on the body tissues. Applying of biodegradable magnesium alloy implants for osteosynthesis of fractures can reduce the temporary disability time due to the absence of reoperation to remove the metal implant and improve the quality of treatment and life of patients. The field of use is medicine.
