The aim of the study: to investigate the changes in pulmonary arteries tone in combined hyperglycemic and hypoxic conditions. It was shown that the experimental diabetes mellitus leds to increased sensitivity of the rat pulmonary arteries smooth muscle to vasoconstrictor action phenylephrine. Smooth muscle cells in both main pulmonary arteries and intrapulmonary arteries obtained from diabetic rats demonstrated increase in the total outward K + - current density amplitude compared to control rats. The hypoxia impact reduced (by 24%) the lumen area of the control rat intrapulmonary arteries, but, on the contrary, it increased by 24% in diabetic animals. The data obtained allow us to make supposition about serious damage of the vascular tone regulation in the pulmonary circulation in this diabetic model and it may lead to undesirable changes in the lung gas exchange under hypoxia Product Description popup.authors Іванова І.В.
