Research purpose: a retrospective analysis of the history of establishing and activity of state institutions on the Ukrainian lands during in the XV - end of the XVIII centuries as holdings creators forming the National Archival Holdings documents in their work. Research methods - conceptual, historical, logical, systemic, modelling, historiographical acquisition, typological, historical-genetic, source study analysis and synthesis. Results and their novelty: The research work is being implemented in Ukraine for the first time. According to the results of the research implementation, a final report was prepared with an analytical review of archival holdings created in the activity of state institutions during the XV - the end of the XVIII centuries on the Ukrainian lands within the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania as well as during Cossack-Hetman period preserved in the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Kyiv. Research significance: the implementation of the research will contribute to improving the basic processes and technologies of working with the NAH documents in archival institutions of Ukraine and methods of archival heuristics and source study criticism.
