The purpose of the research: the substantiation of changes in the content, organization and regulatory support of economic education in order to bring them into line with the requirements of the reconstruction of the economy. Methods of research: logical-historical methodology in combination with structural-functional approach, sociological surveys, statistical and general scientific methods. Results and their novelty: The work substantiates the necessary changes in the field of education in order to overcome the gap between the requirements for economic thinking and modern economic education, and the applied aspects of the implementation of local mechanisms for the reconstruction of the field of professional training of specialists in economics. The provision of the formation of fundamental economic knowledge as a basis for modern education is considered. The statistical analysis of the structure occupied in a professional cut is executed. The criteria of the current and prospective quality of economic education are determined. A description of the institutionalization of the public request for the quality of economic education is presented. The competitive tools for improving the quality of economic education are determined. The foreign experience in monetization of demand for the quality of economic education is revealed. The place of historical-economic bloc in the system of economic education is substantiated. The key directions of transformations in the education system are determined. The foreign experience of using digitalization for the quality of education is revealed. On the basis of the conducted theoretical and analytical work, proposals were made to the authorities to make meaningful changes in the system of national economic education. Degree of implementation: used in the lawmaking process by the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Economic Policy, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; in the work of the Union of Economists of Ukraine. Interrelation with other works: The research is based on the results of previous researches on the development of theoretical and methodological approaches to the elucidation of the laws of the institutional architecture (Research Institute of Architecture and Dynamics of Economic Transformations (0102U006441)), features of the relationship between the hierarchy and the network structures in economic dynamics (HRL "Hierarchy and network structures in economic systems" (0105U003360)), their manifestation in the processes of transformation of the Ukrainian economy (Research Institute "Institutional Transformation of Socio-Economic Systems Ukraine »(0111U006669)), reconstructive theory of economic development (R & D" Reconstructive type of economic development and main directions of its implementation in Ukraine »(0116U006783), GDR" General and local mechanisms for the reconstruction of the economy "0117 U002825). Recommendations on the use of results: results can be used in the activities of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Government of Ukraine, ministries of socio-economic profile, local government and higher education institutions. Field of application: socio-economic policy of the state and regions in legislative, regulatory and institutional provision. Significance of work and conclusions: the work reveals the content of the institutional approach to the formation of mechanisms for reconstructive economic development, aimed at eliminating the discrepancy between the new requirements for economic thinking and modern economic education, and the applied aspects of the implementation of local development mechanisms in the field of professional training of specialists in economics. Foreseeable assumptions about the development of the research: the specialization of the development mechanisms in the framework of the formation of modern projects for the reconstruction of the Ukrainian economy, in particular, in the field of digitization of the economy, is necessary.
