The specific activity of radionuclides and their physical and chemical forms in bottom sediments and higher aquatic plants of the ecosystem of the Chornobyl NPP cooling pond at the stage of decommissioning has been analyzed. The presence of significant 137Cs in the bottom sediments of a cooling pond, 90Sr is predominantly in the exchange state, which suggests a high ability of radionuclide to pass into solution and absorb hydrobionts. In the framework of this work, it was also observed that the specific activity of 137Cs for both investigated species of higher water plants is above the activity of 90Sr. During the study period, the prevalence of 90Sr in exchange forms was noted, while 137Cs were deposited by plants in weak-exchange forms.
