Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 The key parameters of the polyamines (PA) metabolism - PA specter, arginase activity and expression, активность и экспрессия белка аргиназы, ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) expression - were investigated in the peripheral blood mononuclear fraction (BMP) of the patients with chronic В-lymphocytic leukemia (В-CLL), acute В- and Т-lymphocytic leukemia (Т- and В-ALL), non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (NHL) and acute myeloid and monoblastic leukemias М1-М5 (AML (М1-М5)). There were found for the first time some essential features of the PA metabolism system functioning in the patients with different lympho- and myeloproliferative diseases. These features may be used in future to optimize application of the PA metabolism modulators in target therapy of corresponding diseases. Especially, there was found that BMP of the ALL patients, versus the healthy donors' BMP, have increased arginase activity, decreased spermine content and magnified spermidine/spermine molar ratio. BMP of the ALL and AML patients are characterized with high level of the ODC1 gene promoter hypomethylation and high expression of the ODC and c-myc proteins. ?-potential and total negative surface charge of the B-ALL patients' lymphoblasts was significantly lower than in the donors' B-lymphocytes. In all kinds of acute leukemia have been studied, the RNAase activity in the erythrocytes was significantly lower than in the donors' blood.
