The photographs clearly show the typical zones of the arc discharge. - a method of digital processing (increase of contrast) of photographs was created, which made it possible to clearly separate the zones in the welding arc and makes it possible to judge the geometrical characteristics. - a mathematical model was created that allows determining the length of the high-temperature zone of the welding arc depending on the strength of the welding current and the algorithm for determining the influence of the high-temperature zone on the base metal during manual arc welding with a non-consumable electrode.
