Bogatsky, Physico-Chemical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 Objects of study: complexes of 3d and 4f-metals with derivatives of heteroaromatic amino acids series 1,2,5-oxo(thia)diazole, their esters, hydrazide and bicyclic derivatives. Aim of study: influence of structure of heteroaromatic amino acids series 1,2,5-oxo(thia)diazole, their esters, hydrazides on lanthanide-containing complexes luminescent characteristics, studying the influence of 3d- and 4f-metals nature on obtained complexes luminescent characteristics and analyzing presence of macrocyclic effects in obtained complexes of crown ethers and calix[4]arenes. Assessment of possibilities and prospects using synthesized compounds as new fluorescent sensors for d- and f-metals determination, and also luminescent labels and probes, in visible and IR-ranges. Research methods: spectrophotometry, PMR-spectroscopy, mass-spectrometry, luminescence spectroscopy. It was found that replacement of carbon atoms with heteroatoms in oxo- and thiadiazoles leads to decrease in triplet (T) levels and an increase in energy gap between singlet (S) and T-levels, which indicates possibility of 4f-luminescence sensitization mainly for Yb(III), Nd(III) and Er(III) ions in IR-range of spectrum. IR-luminescence of Er(III) is observed for small number of complexes in anhydrous or deuterated solvents. Yb(III) complexes emission spectra consist characteristic bands (?max = 985-988 nm), which split into two components in the case of oxothiazole complexes. Quantum yields of such complexes vary from 0.7% to 2.3%, which lower (0.6-1.3%) in the case of tianalogs. Lanthanide complexes of benzimidazole-crown ethers and their acyclic analogues (podands) were synthesized, which, unlike of oxo- and thia-diazoles complexes, luminesce not only in IR, but also in visible region. The most intense signal is observed for podands complexes from Eu(III) and Tb(III). For emission spectra of Tb(III) complexes with podands are typical five intense bands in 490-648 nm region. In complexes with sequentially substituted benzimidazolyl calix[4]arenes, 4f luminescence is observed both in visible [Eu(III) and Tb(III)] and in near IR-spectrum [Nd(III) and Yb(III)]. It was established that in heteronuclear complexes, 4f-luminescence is detected only in IR-spectrum. For zinc-containing compounds registered 4f-luminescence of Yb(III) ions, whose intensity is higher than in corresponding mononuclear complexes. Product Description popup.authors Іванов Ю.Е.
