It was established that the ultrasonic dispersion of mechanochemically nanostructured 2H-WS2 in water result to its exfoliation and creation of the graphene-like nanoparticles (1H-WS2), which are characterized by semiconducting properties. By means of mechanochemical treatment of massive hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) in the presence of sodium chloride, nanostructured boron nitride (nhBN) is obtained, the layers of which are partially layered and shifted relative to the other. It has been found that nhBN nanoparticles are characterized by a large number of paramagnetic reactive defects that can interact with water to form oxygen-containing functional groups. It has been established that the ultrasonic disintegration of nhBN in water leads to the formation of predominantly monolayer boron nitride nanoparticles that retain the crystalline structure of hBN. It has been shown that the presence of oxygen-containing functional groups on the outer boundary of nhBN nanoparticles contributes to their effective liquid-phase exfoliation in water, which is important for the use of such materials in biomedical sensors.
