Methods of research - field, breeding, laboratory. Interspecific artificial hybridization was carried out in eight combinations of crossings. Three thousand flowers were sown, 980 hybrid seeds were obtained. From the hybrid seed, a new source of mint (677 hybrid-seeded seedlings) was grown. Organoleptic evaluation of this material was carried out and 38 promising samples were identified for further study. 38 breeding samples were studied on economically valuable grounds. Eight promising samples are selected. Recommendations on the formation, conservation and study of the source material of mint are developed.
