Objective: to study the nature of the inheritance of quantitative traits in common bean hybrids on the basis of the initial material with improved taste. Research methods: hybridization, selection, field and laboratory studies, production testing, statistical analysis. The main results of the research: the result of the breeding work of the department in previous years was the inclusion in the State Register of plant varieties suitable for distribution in Ukraine since 2018 of a new variety of beans of grain use Assol. Created a gene pool of beans with valuable economic traits. A new source material, which was obtained using the intervarietal hybridization method, was investigated. A study was conducted on the patterns of inheritance of the main quantitative traits in F1 hybrids in terms of true heterosis and degree of dominance, as well as in F2 hybrids with respect to the degree of variability (coefficient of variation). In the reporting year, correlation dependencies were determined between the main features of the crop structure. In breeding nurseries, lines were selected and numbers exceed the standards for grain yield and its quality, disease resistance, and suitability for mechanized harvesting. According to the results of research in 2018, competitive selection was better in comparison with the standards for the complex of characteristics: selection numbers: 832-17, 891-16, 782-16, 849-17 and 822-17. In the previous variety test: 787/17, 809/17; 756/17, 823-17, 759/17. In the control nursery the following numbers were allocated: 1612-16, 1330-16, 1630-16, 1497-16, 1320-16, 1420-16. The vegetation period lasts up to 105 days, the optimum plant height and the location of the tip of the lower bean above the soil level, relative resistance to the most common diseases, the weight of 100 seeds is about 300 grams, the type of plant growth is determinant, the color of the seed coat is white. Crossing was carried out on the 31st hybrid combination. Probably obtained hybrid seeds for 17 of them.
