He purpose of the work is to conduct a comprehensive study of the modern state of the fauna of the cities of the Northern Azov Sea, to make the Atlas of the distribution of the species of individual groups of animals. The method of research - animal records, cartographic analysis, work with archival materials. Over the last decade, the Melitopol fauna has been enriched with new species by acclimatization of natural settlement and the appearance of adventitious species. The composition of local ecosystems among mammals included 6 new species, among birds 70, and among invertebrates - several dozen species. The research results are implemented in the educational process of the Melitopol State Pedagogical University, in the recommendation for the Melitopol State Forestry Administration, Zaporizhzhya Oblast Department of Ecology.
