It is established that the focusing effect of the plasma wakefield excited by a single bunch takes place for the radial plasma density inhomogeneity possible in the adopted schemes for creating a dense plasma in capillary discharges. A numerical simulation of the wakefieldexcitation in a cylindrical plasma-dielectric waveguide and resonator by a sequence of relativistic electron bunches and acceleration of the test bunch was carried out. Experimental studies clarified the possibility of exciting plasma wakefield at frequencies that are multiple to the bunch repetition frequency, which is caused by the dependence of the excitation processes on the bunchlength.
