TEMPLETS, MAIN CIRCULATION PIPELINE (MCP), MICROSAMPLES, VISCOSITY, THERMODESORPTION OF WATER, METAL AGING, ACOUSTIC EMISSIONS, DUCTILE-BRITTLE TRANSITION TEMPERATURE The results of the modernization of the equipment for cutting metal samples under conditions of high radioactive irradiation and for determining the viscosity of metal are reported; the technique and equipment are developed for determining the temperature of viscous-brittle metal transition according to the registration of acoustic emission using the microsamples cut out from the surface of equipment. The diagnostics of structural-phase changes and service properties of the main metal of the hot and cold legs of the main circulating pipeline of the power units of the South Ukrainian NPP during the operation for 200 thousand hours has been performed. The microstructure, composition and size of emissions, microhardness, electric resistance, metal viscosity, hydrogen content are investigated. The signs of steel aging, which consist in reducing the size of grains, changing proportion between granular and lamellar perlite, increasing the amount of grains along the grain boundaries, are revealed. Changes in the structural characteristics of steel, for the most part, occurred up to 100 thousand hours of operation, indicating the retardation of the aging process after 200 thousand hours of operation. Despite the aging process, the mechanical properties fully meet the requirements of the normative documentation and have a high probability of their preservation to the next control (after 100 thousand hours of operation).
