The purpose of the work: a comprehensive study of the actual problems of the history of Ukraine for implementation in the educational process on the specialty "History and Archeology". Methods of research The current level of research on the history of Ukraine is determined by the application of scientific principles and research methods. The methodology of coverage of this issue gives a deeper theoretical understanding of the development of the historical process in Ukraine. Theoretical and methodological foundations of historical studies are a system of general scientific, philosophical and special historical methods. The principles of historicism, systemicity, objectivity, continuity play an important role in the development of a comprehensive scientific theme of the department "Actual problems of the history of Ukraine: modern vision", which allowed to carry out the necessary scientific analysis of this topic in general and its individual aspects in particular. The principle of historicism predetermined a concrete historical approach when considering the actual problems of the history of Ukraine. The principle of systemism is based on the analysis of the structure of elements of the subject of historiographical research. His application is important in the processing of actual material by historians. In a historical study it is especially important to adhere to the principle of objectivity. The application of this principle encourages a balanced, unbiased analysis of historical processes in Ukraine. The principle of continuity makes it possible to analyze the evolution of Ukrainian society in different historical periods. Historical research is based on the application of anthropological, interdisciplinary and systemic approaches. Problematic approach focuses on the need to clearly identify the main scientific problem of research, as well as specific historiographical problems. In the study on the history of Ukraine it is necessary to apply special historical methods. Problem-chronological is used to determine the periodization of the history of Ukraine. The problem-chronological method analyzes different periods of development of the history of Ukraine, specifies the specific research problems of each of them. One of the important means to achieve the research goal in the proposed topic is the biographical method. The historical-comparative method is used to identify common and distinctive features in historical events. The historical-genetic (retrospective) method is used to reflect the causal relationships that have appeared in the analysis. As a methodological tool, the philosophical methods of dialectics, analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction are also used. Considering the history of Ukraine, one must bear in mind the opinion of I. Kolesnik, who states that in the modern conditions of the growth of the role of humanitarian knowledge there is a "new scientific revolution" of the XXI century, which contributes to the formation of an innovative type of thinking. This causes increasingly widespread use by historians of such methodological approaches as a new intellectual history, social anthropological history, socio-cultural history. There is a need to use contemporary Ukrainian historians of intellectual history as a means of penetrating the essence of historical prpotses. Scientific novelty of the research. Specific scientific results characterizing the novelty of the study include the following: - deepening theoretical developments; - analysis of the leading trends in the history of Ukraine; - Formulation of new methodological approaches to the history of Ukraine. The practical value of the results obtained. Obtaining new scientific knowledge on the history of Ukraine, scientific development of new methodological approaches to studying the historical process in Ukraine, writing course papers, diploma theses, dissertation papers, publication of a manual, individual monographs, a collection of materials for a scientific and practical conference, preparation of reports at scientific conferences.
