The purpose of the research is to formulate theoretical and methodological foundations of reasons for the emergence of a trust crisis, to deepen the methodological tools for its analysis and evaluation, to develop methodology and practical recommendations for restoring public trust in the financial sector. During the research, such methods as logical-historical, scientific abstraction, induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, system-structural analysis, multi-factor regression and correlation analysis, comparative and statistical analysis, time series analysis, methods of sociological research, in particular surveys, observations, were used. Institutional deformations of the financial sector of Ukraine were identified based on sources of its origin; behavioral imbalances in the financial sector of Ukraine with a delimitation of the nature of their origin were justified. The scientific and methodical approach to formalizing the manifestation of public trust in the financial sector on the interpersonal, institutional and systemic levels has been developed. The methodical principles of structuring factors that determine public trust in the financial sector of the country on the interpersonal, institutional and systemic levels of its manifestation are developed.
