It is shown that the process of iodine-dopant modification of activated carbon materials from the solution occurs at negative values of the Gibbs' energy, the formation of the CI phase with a positive enthalpy and a super-high positive change of entropy provides a high density of pseudo-capacity energy accumulation. The intercalation phenomenon has been described on the basis of the quantum-mechanical tunneling model, and the quantum capacitance has been determined.
