The influence of borderlands discourse on human everyday practices was revealed. The mythological beliefs of Ukrainian communities located on borderlands where researched. The theoretical mode of socio-cultural borderlands considering everyday practices was elaborated. New directions of borderlands research were elaborated: imaginary borderlands between megapolis and suburb, city borders, border between public and private. Second inter-disciplinary workshop "Imaginary Borderlands: 'Othering' and 'Domestic Others' on Post-Soviet Frontiers" was held. The level of elaboration. Results of research theme were enlightening in 18 publications and 12 conferences, also among students and in public activities of those scholars, who are engaged in a theme. The latter took part in 15 public events, directed on national-patriotic upbringing and popularization of Ukrainian studies. Those results can be used in preparation of textbooks, as well as in preparing lectures in high educational institutions concerning courses in sociocultural anthropology, history of Ukraine, culturology, sociology. The results of the research theme can be a background considering new approach to the development of suburban area of Kyiv. The meaning of the work is to acquire new knowledge on the functioning of the inter-confessional and inter-ethnic borderlands, the boundaries between the megapolis and its suburbs. Research and understanding of the borderlands in a broader socio-cultural context will allow scholars timely and reasonably respond to public challenges, which will further promote sustainable and competitive development of the Ukrainian state. Foreseeable assumptions about the development of the main core of research - the developed topic needs further elaboration together with the theoretical and methodological comprehension at the third stage of the theme.
