Study of scientific and publishing activity (mid 1990s — 2017) and monitoring of modern editions of NASU; study of transformation of notion of book culture as a result of spread of modern publishing technologies (applied aspect); analysis of implementation of modern scientific and publishing activity practices of world developments; study of globalization tendencies’ influence on the development of academic publishing; the role of the formation of a world information space in improving effectiveness of scientific research. The purpose is to identify main features of transformation of book culture notion, which occurs as a result of modern publishing technologies’ spread and under influence of globalization processes; to analyze introduction into practice of modern scientific and publishing activity of world developments in context of world information space formation, contacts expansion and increase efficiency of scientific research. The research method is analysis of presentation of academic publications on basis of typological and statistical studies and preparation of analytical materials; constant complex monitoring of preparation and issue of scientific publications. With help of methods of bibliographic and source analysis, an array of scientific information on issues of book science and publishing culture, which was formed during 2004-2017 by publications of specialists of NASU was worked out. Transformation of book culture notion is considered in accordance with changes in methods and ways of preparing and presenting results of scientific research in as publications in a form available to world scientific community. The results of these scientific studies can be used to prepare methodological, scientific, reference, encyclopedic literature, publication of works on history of domestic book culture, introduction of modern publishing technologies in order to effectively present scientific results.
