The object of research: verbal continuum of Ukrainian and French literary languages.The aim of research: to characterize categorical and pragmatic features of verbal continuum of literary language. Methods of research: comparative, descriptive, component analysis, cognitive analysis, method of semantic and axiological field, quantitative method with elements of statistical analysis, computer modeling method, semantic-axiological field method. Results. There has been developed the research methodology of verbal continuum of literary language in the renewed paradigm of scientific knowledge. Implementation of integral and lingual-informational approaches to vocabulary studies is motivated. Linguistic and extra linguistic factors that influence linguistic evolution are established. Peculiarities of the basic concepts verbalization in ethnolinguaculture are determined. The semantic, structural, and functional parameters of lexical units in various thematic groups are analyzed in synchrony (on the example of the Ukrainian and French languages).
