To this end, the properties of low-pressure plasma of glow and volume arc discharges have been investigated. The elemental and ionic composition of the non-equilibrium plasma is determined for the technologies of the surfaces of metal products nitriding and the role of the anode potential drop on the potential distribution in the plasma. The plasma generator is developed on the basis of a low-pressure volume arc discharge with a significant working resource. The transport coefficients (heat and electric conductivity) for copper-air plasma are determined. The peculiarities of the formation of the voltage-ampere characteristics of electric arc discharges and their radial structure are investigated in detail, which is decisive for the further development of studies on the transfer of radiation to their properties. A reactor was created for the plasma processing of hazardous carbonaceous wastes and an experimental sample of a steam-water plasma torch with an electric power of 160 kW, which provides the formation of a plasma jet with an enthalpy of up to 3.6 kWh / kg.
