The subject is the economic activity of enterprises of transport systems of Ukraine and the EU. The purpose is to substantiate the strategic directions of integration of the Ukrainian transport system into the market of transport services in the EU, the application of new approaches to the management and development of the transport system, new technologies and rational ways of mastering the transportation of cargoes and passengers, and the establishment of different forms of cooperation. In carrying out the research, methods of substantiation of strategic directions of development, statistical and economic (analysis of the existing financial condition of airlines and airports, analysis of environmental factors, quantitative analysis of the development of the aviation industry), matrix (in the study of the degree of interconnection and the strength of factors, in the simulation behavior of the development of the aviation market under the influence of internal factors of development), as well as methods of modern theory and practice of optimal strategic management. The theoretical results are based on the development of recommendations on the management of transport infrastructure and the efficiency of the use of intermodal transport. The practical significance of the work lies in the fact that its proposals are oriented on widespread use in the practice of the industry by all categories of users of air transport enterprises. The scientific novelty consists in establishing methodological principles, substantiating the conceptual foundations and providing methodological and practical recommendations for ensuring effective interaction in the management of various types of transport. The effectiveness of the implementation is to improve the mechanism of ensuring the efficiency of the operation of transport enterprises in the conditions of the crisis, the growth of competition and reform of the industry.
