It was shown that the proposed inhibitor has high adsorption capability, including at a deformed metal surface. Thanks to its using, the fatigue lifetime of structural steels rises essentially, particularly, fatigue crack growth in the inhibited environment even lower than that in air. The mechanisms of protective action of such inhibitor on corrosion-mechanical fracture of the steel. It was established that the micromechanism of fatigue crack initiation has changed under the action of active components of the inhibitor from the intergranular (with noticeable secondary cracking along grain borders) in the non-inhibited water to transgranular (with etching of interphase borders between ferrite and cementite inside pearlitic grains) in the inhibited one, which led to fatigue crack growth arrest.
