The research objects are multicomponent high-entropy alloys (VES) and nanostructured multilayer nitride coatings. The aim of the work is to obtain high-entropy cathodes containing lanthanides for vacuum arc spraying. Investigation of physical and mechanical properties, structural state, heat resistance of superhard coatings. Research methods - measurement of hardness, determination of the level of elasticity and yield strength by indentation method, determination of friction coefficients by two methods, heat resistance, structural studies. The performed studies of the structure, physical and mechanical properties and X-ray analysis of high-entropy alloys with the optimal compositions of TiZrNbTaHfY and AlCrTiZrNbY. The possibility of obtaining nanostructured nitrides of these alloys with hardness up to 50 GPa in vacuum up to 1100 ° C is shown. The introduction of yttrium makes it possible to increase the thermal stability of highly entropic superhard nitride nanostructured coatings during annealing in vacuum and at atmospheric pressure. It is shown that metal coatings, like cast alloys, have friction coefficients at the level of 0.6, but nitride coatings of these alloys have sufficiently low friction coefficients at the level of 0.06-0.085.
