The object of the study is the anti-fragment protection of combat armored vehicles (CAV) of the Army units. The purpose of the work is to identify ways and means of improving the effectiveness of the CAV anti-fragment protection of the Army units, to develop a methodology for the evaluation of the CAV anti-fragment protection, as well as to develop the draft standard "Means of providing of the combat armored vehicles anti-fragment protection. In the course of the work, the following was carried out: analysis of the world tendencies of development of the CAV anti-fragmentation protection of the Army units; analysis of combat damages of the CAV from the destruction of fragments of artillery shells, mines and improvised explosive devices; defining the characteristics of the existing CAV anti-fragmentation protection of the Army units (classification, composition, uses and others); analysis of the requirements of the existing standards for the evaluation and determination of the CAV anti-fragmentation protection level; development of proposals for the evaluation methodology of the CAV anti-fragmentation protection; determination of tactical and technical requirements for means of providing of the CAV anti-fragmentation protection of the Army units; development of proposals for the composition and content of the draft standard "Means of providing of the combat armored vehicles anti-fragment protection.
