The purpose of the work is to develop a theoretical base and substantiation of parameters for the calculation and forecasting methodology for determining the characteristics of the maximum runoff rivers of the plains, rare and predictive probability of excess and its practical implementation in the Dnieper basin, taking into account climate change and possible hydrological risks; analysis of the current hydrochemical regime in the Dnieper basin in years and seasons of different water levels and ecological assessment of river waters. Research methods - theoretical analysis of hydrological processes and phenomena; geographical generalization of hydrometeorological values; discriminant analysis in determining the water content of spring watercourse; numerical methods for determining unmeasured quantities. A unified model of a complex territorial long-term prediction of the characteristics of a spring water field has been created; methodological approaches for determining and generalizing the calculated characteristics of spring runoff with a rare probability of excess are substantiated, given the limited or lack of baseline information on river runoff; ecological assessment of water quality was conducted, laws of distribution of hydrochemical parameters were established for their possible forecasting. On the basis of the obtained results, the assessment of the areas of possible flooding and the assessment of the risks, environmental risks of water quality in accordance with the requirements of the EU WFD and WFD were carried out.
